Rosemarie Flanagan Beltis, Founder and Artistic Director

Ms. Rosemarie opened the doors to her dance studio in 1977 and has since provided dance education in Classical Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Musical Theatre and Hip Hop to countless young dancers. She is a life-long student of dance, training with many leading organizations and master teachers in Boston, New York and Las Vegas.

A graduate of Dance Teachers’ Training Program, she is a qualified and active member of the Dance Teachers’ Club of Boston, Dance Masters of America and Dance Educators of America. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Dance Teachers’ Club of Boston for the past twenty years and currently holds the office of Immediate Past President. She has chaired the Student Workshops, Convention and Finance Committees for this organization.

Ms. Rosemarie loves watching her students flourish as their technique and passion for dance develop through the years. She takes pride in her students’ accomplishments. Many have attended Dance Education Training Courses, have been the recipients of dance scholarships, continued their dance education and received degrees in dance at various colleges, and perform and teach professionally. Several students have opened their own studios and dance companies. Many RDS students are involved in theatre productions; two have gone on Broadway. 

RDS Performing Arts has accepted five invitations to perform at Walt Disney World and are continually recognized for their outstanding performance.

 

 

Roselle Feldman, Instructor

Miss Roselle earned a bachelor's degree in Dance Education from Bridgewater State College in 2005. When she is not busy directing and choreographing for her own performance company, Intensity Dance Company, which performs throughout Massachusetts, she trains with some of the best choreographers in the business at various dance conventions, including Brian Freidman, Dave Scott and other world renounced choreographers.

In 2009, Roselle was chosen to study in Israel for five months with Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company. Her choreography has won numerous awards at many different competitions. Roselle is heading into her sixth season with RDS, as the Senior Hip Hop teacher. She is a proud member of the Dance Teacher's Club of Boston and prides herself on making her classes informative, high-energy and lots of fun for beginner and experienced dancers alike.

 

 

Kerri Mack, Instructor

Miss Kerri grew up dancing at RDS Performing Arts beginning her dance journey at age 3. Through her years of dance studies with Ms. Rosemarie, she participated in many dance workshops and conventions. She also performed multiple times at Walt Disney World. Her fond memories of performing at this wonderful venue became even more special when she accompanied the RDS Disney dancers as a teacher and a mentor.

Her love of dance led her to study dance at the Palladino School of Dance at Dean College receiving her Associate Degree. She has training in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, modern, lyrical and contemporary. She feels fortunate to have studied with many renowned teachers and choreographers including Sam Fiorello, Kelly Peters, Nailah Randall-Bellinger, Jill Silverman, Jeremy Ruth Howes, and Jean Wenzel.

She is passionate about sharing her knowledge of dance with her students and watching them grow into confident, skilled dancers. Her enthusiasm and positive energy encourages her dancers to be the best they can be!

 

     

Nichole Jackman, Instructor 

Miss Nichole began dancing with Miss Rosemarie at age three.  Throughout her years at RDS, she developed a strong passion for the art of dance.  She was a student demonstrator and presented her high school internship at the studio.  Performing at Walt Disney World and the annual Dance Revues are some of her fondest memories. 

Nichole is trained in ballet, tap, jazz, hip­hop, musical theater, modern, and contemporary.  She attended many dance workshops and conventions and is honored to have worked  with many well-known choreographers including Sam Fiorello, Maurice Hines, Brian Friedman and Mia Michaels.

She graduated from the Dance Teachers Training Course/Dance Teachers’ Club of Boston, in 2003.  She later went on to become a member of the Dance Teachers’ Club of Boston.  Nichole studied dance at the Palladino School of Dance at Dean College.   Since 2005, she has been teaching preschool/pre­k for children ages 3­-5 and is in the process of completing her degree in Early Childhood Education.  

Through years of experience as an early childhood educator and her passion and experience as a dance instructor, Nichole is able to foster and promote children’s physical development, self­confidence and social skills while building stamina and technique.  She loves working with the students at RDS.

 

Kate Distato, Assistant Instructor

Miss Kate has been a student of dance since the age of three. At age nine, she began her dance training at RDS. Many of those years, she was not only a student, but a student demonstrator. She graduated from the Dance Teachers Training Course/Dance Teachers Club of Boston, which gave her the confidence and opportunity to learn many different techniques. Her experience studying dance from Ms. Rosemarie gave her the insight to pursue not only dance but teaching as a career.

After graduation, she went on to study dance at the Palladino School of Dance at Dean College receiving her Associate Degree. She continued her education at Bay State College majoring in Early Childhood Education and is currently toddler teacher at Needham Children’s Center. Kate assists Ms. Rosemarie with ballet, tap and jazz classes. Kate loves working with the students at RDS and is happy being part of the staff.

 

 

Emily McSweeney, Assistant Instructor

Miss Emily joined RDS in 2007 and instantly loved the studio. Throughout high school, Emily was a student demonstrator for Ms. Rosemarie. She also graduated from the Dance Education Training Course/Dance Teachers Club of Boston in 2012. At Dover-Sherborn High School, she was involved in the student‐run dance team and was a featured dancer in the school’s spring musical Footloose. She also modeled for Curtain Call Costumes at an event held by Dance Teachers Club of Boston.

Emily is currently a student in the nursing program at Regis College. While pursuing her studies, she was delighted to return to RDS as an assistant teacher in ballet, tap, jazz, modern, hip‐hop, lyrical musical theatre. Her caring nature, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm for dance are just a few qualities that make her a wonderful assistant.

 

 

Pam Silver, Assistant Instructor

Miss Pam began taking ballet at the young age of three. As her interest in dance grew, she joined RDS at age 12 to try classes in tap and jazz. After just one year, the spark was lit and she became a full performing arts student studying ballet, pointe, tap, jazz and lyrical.

Throughout high school, Pam was a student demonstrator. She graduated from the Dance Teachers Training Course/Dance Teachers Club of Boston. That same year she traveled the country as a VIP dancer with Dance Olympus, where she studied with master teachers including Sam Fiorello, Frank Hatchett, Lynda Gache and Greg Russell.

Pam continued studying dance at the University of Maryland and UMass Amherst. She participated in several university productions as both a dancer and stage technician. Following college, she moved to Colorado where she taught ballet, tap and jazz for the City of Boulderʼs Performing Arts Center.

Throughout the years, she always came back to RDS to teach classes and participate in the annual dance revue. She was honored to travel and perform with the RDS students in Disney World in 2002, 2004 & 2007. Pam is the stage manager for the annual dance revue as well as helps with choreography, costume selection and production. She is grateful for the opportunity to continue dancing, teaching and sharing her love and passion for dance with the students of RDS.

 

 

Eleanor Boyle, Guest Teacher

Eleanor trained under the expertise of Esther Doyle Hansen in pointe, ballet, tap, jazz and acrobatics. She continued her training taking Master Classes across the country where she learned new styles and techniques. She opened her dance studio in 1978 and taught dancers from age 3 to 75. Her students successfully competed in dance competitions across the country and received many recognitions.

Ms Eleanor graduated from the Dance Education Training Course and is currently a member of the Dance Teachers’ Club of Boston (former president and long-time board member) and the Dance Educators of America.

 

Sam Fiorello, Guest Artist/Choreographer

Sam Fiorello has celebrated many years of teaching. During his tenure as a teacher, choreographer and adjudicator, he established an enviable international reputation.
He was a faculty member of the prestigious, Boston Conservatory where his daily classes with aspiring young professional help prepare young men and women for careers in theatre, television and dance companies.

Sam Fiorello is known nationwide for this innovative choreography in jazz, lyrical and tap.  He is a master teacher, competition judge and is commissioned by leading schools, dance companies and organizations all over the world to teach and choreograph.  Sam has received countless awards and recognitions for this work.

His creative energy and charm has captivated the students at RDS for the past 23 years. Sam continues working with Ms. Rosemarie and her students and is one of the highlights of the dance season.

 

 

Liz Dugan, Secretary

Mrs. Liz Dugan has been the studio secretary for 25 years. She came to the studio after a career in retail with Taffy’s Dancewear (now the Capezio store) in Wellesley. She has been an active member of The Wellesley Players for 35 years where she works backstage as a set dresser, costume mistress and props mistress.

Her love of children and their pursuit of dance has kept her involved with RDS. During her career in theatre, she worked with many accomplished dancers. She sees these same high level skills being taught at RDS under the artistic director, Rosemarie Flanagan Beltis and her staff.
